How does Secular Buddhism differ from classical Buddhism? The primary differences are that Secular Buddhism does not include any form of spirituality i.e. God, deities or a soul, nor does it include the concepts of reincarnation or karma beyond one’s lifetime. The secondary differences are largely cultural or related to terminology.
For someone curious about Buddhism, or perhaps for someone disenchanted with their experience of Buddhism thus far it is important to know how Secular Buddhism differs from traditional Buddhism overall.
The links below cover the high level differences. For the sake of efficiency, I may direct readers to other resources providing the traditional view and below that will provide the Secular Buddhist view.
